Terms of Service

1. Who can use Sharpe Picks

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If your jurisdiction sets a higher age for sports-related services (e.g. 21 in some US states), you must meet that age. By signing up, you confirm you meet the requirement.

2. What Sharpe Picks does

• Pulls live sports data (games, injuries, depth charts, stats) from public ESPN endpoints and other licensed sources.
• Computes opportunity scores and matchup edges from publicly available data — these are statistical observations, not guarantees.
• Surfaces sportsbook lines (when configured) so you can compare them to the underlying data. We are not the bookmaker; we just show the line.
• Lets you log practice picks for self-tracking. We grade them automatically when the game finals. Picks are private to your account unless you explicitly share a link.

3. What Sharpe Picks does NOT do

• We do not place bets on your behalf.
• We do not accept wagers, collect stakes, or pay out winnings.
• We do not guarantee any outcome. Sports are unpredictable — past performance and structural advantages are inputs, not outputs.
• We do not provide financial, investment, or legal advice. Information here is for entertainment and education.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Scrape, mass-download, or resell our data or any third-party data we surface (ESPN's, the Odds API's, etc.).
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to derive paid features via API abuse.
• Share your account credentials or bypass rate limits with bots or proxies.
• Use the AI chat to generate content that violates the model provider's usage policy (illegal content, harassment, minors, etc.).
• Use Sharpe Picks where sports-data services are restricted or unlawful in your jurisdiction.

We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these rules, and to remove content we believe is fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful.

5. Subscriptions + payments

Sharpe Picks Pro is a recurring subscription. You can cancel at any time from /settings (Stripe checkout) or in the Google Play Store (Android wrapper). Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period; we do not pro-rate refunds for partial periods unless required by law.

Free trials, when offered, automatically convert to paid subscriptions at the trial's end unless you cancel. The trial offer and price are shown clearly at checkout — by proceeding you agree to those specific terms.

6. Third-party services

Sharpe Picks depends on: Clerk (auth), Stripe + Google Play (payments), Vercel (hosting + edge compute), Postgres (database), Groq (AI chat inference), ESPN (live sports data), and The Odds API (when odds + props are enabled). Each of those services has its own terms and privacy policy that may also apply when you use the affected feature. We are not responsible for outages or changes in third-party APIs.

7. Disclaimers

Sharpe Picks is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee accuracy, availability, or fitness for any particular purpose. Sports data can be wrong or stale at any moment — verify critical information against the official source before acting.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising out of your use of Sharpe Picks is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD $50.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time (see Privacy Policy, Section 6). We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination we'll remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required for fraud, tax, or legal obligations.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is material (impacts your rights, pricing, or how we use your data), we'll notify you in-app the next time you sign in. Continued use after the notice constitutes acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware (US), without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You agree to resolve any dispute in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, except where consumer-protection law in your home jurisdiction requires otherwise.
