The short version: we surface the same data sharp bettors look at, and let you ask an AI questions about it. Here's what people usually want to know before they sign up.
What is Sharpe Picks?
Sharpe Picks is an AI-powered sports research assistant for NBA, NFL, and MLB. We surface the same data sharp bettors look at — injury reports, depth charts, matchup edges, recent form — and let you ask an AI questions about tonight's slate. No bets are placed here; this is research only.
No. We never accept wagers, never custody funds, and never partner with a book to push specific bets. We're a data tool. Think of us as the homework assistant before you place a bet somewhere else — DraftKings, FanDuel, PrizePicks, or just to discuss with friends.
How does the AI research assistant work?
Our chat tool is loaded with today's full slate — every game, every injury, every depth chart, plus recent team and player form. Ask it "who's likely to start at PG for the Lakers tonight?" or "what's the matchup edge for Tatum vs. Phoenix?" and it answers using the actual data, not guesses. Powered by Groq's gpt-oss-120b model.
A player prop (short for proposition bet) is a wager on an individual player's stat line for one game — points, rebounds, assists, passing yards, hits, etc. — usually phrased as over/under a line set by the sportsbook. Sharpe Picks helps you research player props by surfacing recent gamelogs, matchup history, and projected role changes from injuries.
Pick your favorite teams, enable push notifications, and we ping you the moment a starter on one of those teams flips to "Out." Quiet hours 11pm–8am ET — you're never pinged for routine probable/questionable noise. Refreshed continuously from ESPN's injury feed.
Free gets you the daily game schedule, league injury report, basic team leaderboards, and a few AI chats per day. Pro ($5.99/mo, 7-day free trial) unlocks unlimited AI chats, full matchup edge analysis, MinuteMovers opportunity alerts, unlimited player search, and personalized push notifications. Cancel anytime.
NBA and NFL at launch. MLB and NHL data is already wired (schedules, injuries, depth charts, leaders) and matchup analysis is enabled where the underlying stats support it. We add coverage based on user demand — let us know what you want next.
Where does your data come from?
Public ESPN APIs for scores, schedules, injuries, depth charts, and box scores — the same feed ESPN.com itself uses. We do not scrape sportsbooks for odds or lines; user-input lines on Practice Picks stay local to your account.
Are you available on Android / iOS?
Yes, Sharpe Picks ships as an Android app on the Google Play Store. iOS is on the roadmap. The web version at sharpepicks.com works on any device and installs as a PWA on iOS via Safari's Share → Add to Home Screen.
What are Practice Picks?
A free tracker for logging your predictions — singles, parlays, or player props — that auto-grades when games final. See ROI by market, win rate, and current streak. It's the easiest way to see whether your gut actually beats random over a long enough sample. No bets are placed; this is purely a research log.
Sharpe Picks surfaces data and statistical edges. We don't predict outcomes, guarantee wins, or tell you what to bet. Sports are unpredictable; treat any "edge" we surface as one input among many. Gamble responsibly. If gambling is a problem, call 1-800-GAMBLER.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On the web: Settings → "Manage Subscription" opens the Stripe customer portal where you can cancel in one click. On Android: Google Play → Subscriptions → Sharpe Picks → Cancel. Either way, your access continues through the end of your current billing period.
